Grilling for Good

The Claremont Growers Collective is pleased to partner with the Claremont Opera House, Claremont Soup Kitchen and Claremont Spice and Dry Goods to hold the third annual “Grilling for Good” benefit concert including a “Chopped” style food competition. The event will be held on the hillside of Arrowhead Recreation Area on August 19th. Doors open at 4:30pm.

The Chopped Competition - Grilling Edition - starts at 5pm and there will be two rounds of competition: appetizer and entrée, with judging after each round. Competitors for 2023 are in the process of being finalized.  Who will take home the coveted Chopped trophy for 2023? Returning judges are Chef Momo Brown - Sweet Fire BBQ, Chef Sarah Kainu - Culinary Arts Program at SRVRTC, and Chef Michelle Dionne - Culinary Director of The Crowbar and its sister restaurants.

The music starts at 6pm with Mark and Deb Bond performing classic rock, blues and their original music. They've been musical collaborators for 27 years and partners for 21 of those years, playing in a variety of bands during that timeframe. The Bonds will play four sets between the grilling competition.

Tickets:  Adult tickets are $25 and K-12 students are $10, with profits split 50/50 between the Claremont Opera House and the Claremont Soup Kitchen. Adults can choose to sit in the bar "21+" section or the family section. Bring your own lawn chairs or picnic blankets.

A limited number of fire pits are available for $40 to add to your ticket order, providing a reserved seating space for your party. The fire pits come with a 3 hour fire log that can be lit at any time through the event. S'mores kits will be available for sale.

Food/Bar: The Claremont Soup Kitchen will be providing concessions of North Country Smokehouse sausages and hot dogs, with sides and beverages. The Claremont Opera House will provide beer/wine/hard selzer service in the restricted bar area for adults 21 and over. Alcoholic beverages must not be brought into the event space from outside.

In addition to the Claremont Growers Collective, this community event is also sponsored by Bar Harbor Bank and Trust and Century 21 HIghview Realty. North Country SmokeHouse is the in-kind food sponsor. Many thanks to these local businesses for their support.
